In line with the Education Digital Agenda 2021-2025, National Development Plan (NDP) II & III which advocate for leveraging ICT Integration in education sector, resulting into improved quality learning outcomes and inclusiveness, the ICT Teachers Association of Uganda has organized a Teachers’ capacity development and resource sharing workshop on ICT integration in pedagogy, slated for women’s day 8th March 2022 at Makerere college school.
The agenda of the workshop will be as follows:
8:00-8:30 am | Arrival, registration and introductions |
8:30-9:00 am | Welcome remarks and digital resource sharing / installations |
9:00-10:00am | Women’s Day 2021: How Uganda’s Digital Agenda promotes gender inclusion |
10:00-11:00am | Exposition: ICT as an aid for the new curriculum and abridged curriculum |
11:00-11:30am | Break tea |
11:30-1:00pm | Hands-on: Demo ICT Integrated Lessons |
1:00-2:00pm | Lunch |
2:00-2:30pm | Running ICT Clubs to support ICT Integration and project-based learning |
2:30-3:00pm | School ICT Policy: The need and how to develop one |
3:00-4:30pm | Notices and Updates about Joining the Edify Education Technology Program, ITAU SACCO and ITAU AGM 2022 |
4:30-5:30pm | AOB and closure |
The workshop fee is UGX 30,000 to cater for facilities, meals, and several new resources which will be shared to all the participants to take back to their schools, such as offline digital libraries that can be used for research as recommended in the new curriculum.
The workshop model is Training of Trainers (ToT), and we expect the teachers who make it to the workshop to be fully equipped and be in position to share with their other colleagues back home, and to participate in the on going Edify EdTech project. Participants should come with a laptop or flash disk of at least 16GB capacity in order to receive the digital resources that will be shared.
