Schools Turn to Online Admission Forms Amid Covid Restrictions

Now that schools are closed and movement is restricted, how are schools going to handle admissions? Below are a few schools that have done it from which we can borrow a leaf.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused a lot of disruption in virtually all sectors globally. But one sector that has been hugely affected is the education sector. Many schools have resorted to taking their classes online while some have even gone a step further by assessing learners online.

Surprisingly, the tools that are being used to engage learners are not new, they have in fact been around for some time. For example, while many only learnt of Zoom during the corona pandemic, it has been around since 2011. Teams has been here sine 2017. Jitsi has been around since 2003.

Popular screen recorders have also been around for example Bandicam which has been around since 2009. The occurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic made institutions wake up from their slumber to start looking for ways of engaging students remotely.

So What About Admissions?

So, when UNEB hinted that it was releasing results, many were skeptical how schools would go ahead with admissions amid the lockdown. Many suggested that UNEB had to wait for the lockdown to be lifted. But with all technological advances that have been around for more than a decade, the question of admissions had a tried and tested answer – ONLINE FORMS.
