We hereby invite you to the ITAU National Capacity Development Workshop (CDW) and AGM 2022 to be held at Trinity College Nabbingo, from Wed 20th – Thur 21st April 2022. Registration is on-going via cdw.ictteachersug.net. You can Download Invitation Letter [PDF].
ICT Teachers Association of Uganda (ITAU) is a network of teachers of ICT across all levels of education in Uganda. ITAU exists to promote ICT literacy and Integration in all subjects in Education and other spheres of daily life. ITAU’s Motto is ‘Together Against Computer Illiteracy’. ICT is a highly evolving subject and through such workshops, ICT Teachers get a chance to share new knowledge and continuously improve their skills and capacity for teaching ICT and managing ICTs in schools.
This year, the Capacity Development sessions for teachers will address skill and knowledge gaps teachers are facing during this season, especially now that the education system has been changed to emphasize practical skills, projects, clubs, ICT integration, attitudes and values geared towards the overall goal of producing graduates who are competitive in the World of Work (WoW).
We have invited key resource persons and officials to share information and resources needed by teachers to guide student projects and prepare learners for DIT occupational assessment as laid out in the new curriculum. We shall also have practical hands-on sessions on setting up computer networks (LANs), website design and publishing, which are some of the occupations in ICT.
We have a number of special guests, sponsors and partners who are going to grace the event, from Ministry of Education and Sports, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, National Information Technology Authority (NITA-U), Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT), Edify Uganda and School Monitor – the makers of new software for making report cards based on the new curriculum. We also have several book publishers and hardware vendors who will be exhibiting the latest on the market.
