The ICT Teachers’ Association of Uganda is in an effort to help teachers reduce their dependence on technicians for common computer lab problems. That is why I write articles on this page that tackle common problems encountered in school computer labs. My recent article on how to install Windows XP was well received by members and so I was asked to quickly follow it up with one that described the steps in installing other versions.

In this particular article, I will take you through the steps of Installing Windows 7. All you need for this article is a Windows 7 DVD and a PC with a functional DVD drive. If you don’t have a DVD but have a flash drive, you can read my article on how to make a bootable flash drive.

The process of copying and installing the required files then starts.

At this point, do not be tempted to “Boot from CD or DVD” again.
